Asserting that the main reason why he entered politics is to serve the people and bring development in his constituency, Mayang Imphal A/C's MLA Kongkham Robindro reaffirmed today that he will entirely use the funding sanctioned for development in his constituency by reaching out to the people .
He was speaking as a chief guest at the "One-Day Labour Awareness cum Launching Programme of Tailoring Training, 2017-18" which was organised by the Mayang Imphal Kendra Building and Under Construction Workers' Union at Mayang Imphal Ani Longbi community hall, Imphal West .
Lamenting that there have been allegations that some people in his constituency are reportedly getting only 4 kgs of rice out of the actual 5-kg quota per month are being distributed to each beneficiary under NFSA, the MLA asked all to introspect into the matter and find out such a misinformation campaign has been launched.
He said that the people of his constituency will come to know about the developmental and welfare works carried out by him in Mayang Imphal A/C at the end of five years tenure while promising that he will never misuse the funds meant for the public and development for his constituency .
The BJP Government at the Centre is taking up various projects and schemes for the welfare of women and children in all the States, Robindro noted and assured that he will do all the needful to ensure that the benefits of these schemes and projects are also timely accessed by the people of his constituency .
Maintaining that it is unfortunate that the previous Government did not generate awareness on the purpose and benefits of giving labour cards to labourers, the MLA urged all to obtain labour cards and get its benefits .
He also asked to obtain the labour cards by those deserving persons while informing the labour card holders to renew their cards on time and follow the guidelines given by authorities concerned .
