Commemorating a journey dotted with joys and sacrifice, the Hunphun Baptist Church (HBC) on Sunday organized a day long worship and festivities to celebrate the 47th Choir Raising Day at its campus at Hunphun Village.
Held under the theme "I will sing to the Lord while I live"; the observance witnessed a choral display of 10 well rehearsed Hymns from the HBC Choir, apart from an attention gripping song competition.
Besides, 12 of the 32 chorale pioneers who instituted Choir in the church in 1968 were honoured with tokens of acknowledgement before the congregation.
Expounding the theme, Pastor Rev Ayonsui Shingnaisui called upon the youth to devote their lives to serving God while they are agile and strong.

Choir Director Tungsa Ragui said singing in the choir is not for earning any worldly recognition and fame, it is purely a service in God's Kingdom.
He said that HBC now has 60 members in its choir, adding that most of them are students.
Despite their tight academic schedules, the members are giving their best time to the church and we have come thus far today, he acknowledged.
On the day, former choir directors Athan Kashung, Wungpam Shimray, Vareso Vasha recollected how they struggled to sustain choir in the initial stages.
Notwithstanding the sacrifice, singing in the choir has its own joy and fulfilment as we do so in the service of God, they felt.
Choir in charge Swaraj Shimray also spoke on how to strengthen the choir.
Choir teams from Zingtoze Baptist Church and Meizailung Baptist Branch Church led by respective choir director also attended the celebration.
