Follow ground rules: Shiv Sena to Soo groups

Shiv Sena has urged outfits which have signed the Suspension of Operation (So0) with the central and state governments to abide by the ground rules of the agreement.
Addressing a press meet at Shiv Sena Manipur office at Babupara on Tuesday, state president M Tombi said that the riots were the result of ethnic tensions which have been brewing for a long time.
He then urged outfits which signed the So0 pact to abide by the rules of the agreement.
Tombi also urged the As-sam Rifles to treat all com-munities equally and refrain from any act detrimental to interest of the state.
He added that the union home minister will be requested to deploy another force instead.
Stating that no one has the right to prevent the Meetei/ Meitei people from demand-ing a scheduled tribe status, he reasoned that it is an in-herent right of the commu-nity to seek constitutional safeguard.
Tombi further urged trad-ers and fuel outlets not to hike prices, adding that the party will take legal action if anyone is found doing so.
He also urged both communities to stop harming one another and help restore peace and normalcy in the state.
Shiv Sena Manipur district president Mangoljao Meitei, who also atterIed the press meet, termed the ongoing violence as plain terrorisn-and not communal riots.

As such, civil organisations one ministers trying to save the Meetei/ Meitei community should not take this problem lightly but visit the far-flung villages and assess the grounc situation.
