Imphal, September 08 2019:
President of Pangambam Sagei Seva Committee, Pangambam Tomba has announce that there are no more restrictions against devotees coming to Kaina Laifam as per a ruling of the Manipur Human Rights Commission and the High Court of Manipur.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, Tomba said that Kaina Laifam has long been a place of prayer for the Pangambam clan since time immemorial and Maharaj Bhagyachandra recognised the site as a sacred place in 1776.However, recently some people from Poireikhongjin created a ruckus and prevented people from coming to Kaina Laifam.
So one Gurumayum Iboyaima filed a case and accordingly MHRC and the Court ruled that it is against the law to restrict the people against coming for prayer to the sacred place, even warning to take up stern legal actions against any who were found restricting the devotees.
Now there are no more restriction at the place and people can now organise religious ceremonies at Kaina Laifam just as they normally would, Tomba explained.
On the other hand, he mentioned that the alleged spreading of propaganda by the Kaina Development and Protection Organisation Poireikhongjin with the aim of preventing people from coming to the site is rather unfortunate.
