Chairman cum Managing Director of Raj Medicity, Haobijam Rajendro has informed that the hospital will continue to provide free medical treatment to those injured in the ongoing conflict.
Speaking to media persons during a press conference held at the Multipurpose Hall of Raj Medicity, North AOC today, the Managing Director stated that roughly 40 injured persons had received free medical treatment since the genesis of violence on May 3 .
He stated that if the need arises, the hospital intends to hire doctors for different departments from outside the State in order to continue facilitating this free medical service for the victims of violence.
Under the Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme of the hospital, weekly mega free health camps are organised annually in the months of June and July.
Here, people can even avail facilities for free operations as well, he shared.
Saying that the hospital is currently facing difficulties in procuring various medical items necessary to conduct daily activities in the hospital, he rued that disruptions in the movement of ambulances, doctors and other hospital staff have added to their worries.
Further, he decried the alleged incidents of Central Paramilitary Forces blocking the movement of water tankers and intimidating these individuals who supply the daily water requirements of the hospital.
In the face of shortage of life saving drugs and other essential commodities brought on by the economic blockade along the national highway, Haobijam Rajendro earnestly appealed to people to extend their help to Raj Medicity in procuring these necessary items.
