The Manipur Architects' Forum is grieved by the sudden demise of its member and first architect of Manipur Loitongbam Mangi Singh who passed away on May 5 .
He was born on March 1, 1944 at Yumnam Leikai Ngakraba Leirak.
He completed his Bachelor of Architecture from JJ College of Architecture, Bombay University.
During his service period, L Mangi Singh was involved in design and supervision of important structures of Manipur like Shahid Minar, Kangla Western Gate, banquet cum darbar hall at Governor's bungalow, Nupilal Complex, etc.
L Mangi was a nominated member of the general council of Council of Architecture, New Delhi from 1981 to 1983 .
He was the first elected member of National Academy of Fine Arts, New Delhi.
He was also the president of Indo-Japan Friendship Association.
The Forum conveys its condolences to the bereaved family members and has extended their assistance during this time of distress.
The members of the Forum observed two minutes silence for the departed soul to rest in peace.
