Yangngouphai village bans road expansion work

The chief of Yangngouphai villages has imposed a ban on the road expansion work of Imphal-Moreh, NH-102.Speaking to media persons, Jangmang Haokip, chief of Yangngouphai village stated that the village has decided to ban all forms of construction work carried out by National Highway & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) along NH-102 until an amicable solution has been brought on the disputed road expansion work from Khongkhang village to New Mongjang village.
He mentioned that the expansion work of National Highway 102 from Khongkhang to Tuipi Mate village, Sibong Khudengthabi village, TM Zoumunnuam village, K Zalenmoul village, H Mongjang village, L Phaimol village, Yangngouphai village and New Mongjang village was carried out by NHIDCL under the Act East Policy of Government of India since 2016.Jangmang Haokip further stated that the decision to ban all construction work along NH-102 was taken following the failure of NHIDCL to follow through with the agreement made between the corporation and nine village chiefs of the area.
