Two abducted persons rescued by combined forces

Imphal, September 04 2013:
Two persons, who have been abducted by armed cadres of the proscribed United People's Revolutionary Front (UPRF) were rescued by a combined team of police commandos, Lilong Police and personnel of 40 Assam Rifles stationed at Lilong from Chaobok area on Monday.
Talking to media persons in this regard at Lilong Police Station today, T Lalboi Haokip, SDPO Thoubal, informed that on receiving report about the abduction, the combined team conducted a massive search operation at Lilong Mairen village, Chaobok area and Kaleikhong.

While the team was frisking passersby at Chaobok area, two cadres of URPF namely Md Anish Khan (25), s/o late Md Abdul Rashid of Heinou Makhong and Md Riyajuddin (24), s/o Md Abdul of Lilong Kaleikhong were arrested.
One 9mm Pistol, two live rounds and a mobile phone were seized from the possession of the arrested duo.
On further interrogation, the whereabouts of the two abducted persons were also known from the duo.
Accordingly, the combined team rushed in and rescued K Albert Singh, s/o late K Ravichandra and S Nganthoi Meetei, s/o S Rajendro, both residents of Palace Compound, from the eastern side of the foothills of Chaobok Hill, the SDPO said.
