Imphal, September 03 2020:
The Manipur Students' Association Delhi (MSAD) has denounced the 'human right violation' by the Government of Manipur and declared that it will soon organise an online placard campaign against the violation of freedom of speech in Manipur.
In a statement issued by MSAD, the association alleged that the memorandum issued on August 10, 2020 by the Directorate of University and Higher Education, Government of Manipur against writing and expression of views on the Government policies/programmes in the media by teachers in Manipur is the Government's way of 'systematically suppressing' the voices of people in Manipur.
Restricting teachers to keep their views to the public is violating the teaching rights of teachers, it continued.
MSAD appealed to the people of WESEA to strongly resist together against such acts which consume natural rights.
The statement also said that an online placard campaign against the violation of freedom of speech in Manipur and all over the World will be organised and the details will be notified soon.
