Imphal, November 01 2015 :
Keishamthong A/C MLA Laisom Ibomcha on Sunday opined that civil society organisations should not hold talks with the Government of India representatives till the contents of the recently signed Naga Peace Accord were made public.
The MLA made the observation during a book release function of "Laisu Anisuba" (Moral Science II) published by Leipak Kanba Ahallup (LEIKALLUP) which was held at Hueiyen Lanpao Literary Hall, Thouda Bhabok Leikai.
Attending the function as Chief Guest, MLA Ibomcha said that India's interlocutor RN Ravi, who took the main role in the Naga Peace Accord signed on August 3 last, will be visiting Imphal on November 3."It has been learnt that RN Ravi may hold talks with members of United Committee Manipur (UCM) and All Manipur United Club's Organisation (AMUCO)", said MLA Ibomcha.
He opined that it will be better not to engage in talks until the contents of the framework agreement are made public.
Reacting to the repeated claims of the Government of India on not harming the interests of Manipur State by the Peace Accord, MLA Ibomcha asked why the contents of the accord have been concealed if they did not impinge on the interests of Manipur.
The Centre has been continuously neglecting Manipur's interests by keeping the public in the dark, pointed out the MLA and called upon the people of the State to teach RN Ravi a lesson this time.
The book release function was attended by LEIKALLUP leader Nepram Nungkangba as President while former Director of Manipur Government's Education (S) Thangjam Samungou, Deputy Director of Education (S) Soubam Irikhomba Luwang and Standard Robert School Principal Landhoni were the Guests of Honour.
