Students felicitated

St Thomas High School, Kontha Ahallup, Imphal East on Saturday felicitated meritorious students who have cleared the HSLC examination conducted by BOSEM, including Moirangthem Julendia Devi who secured 3rd position.
Moirangthem Julendia, d/o M Surjit Singh and M Premlata Devi of Heingang Awang Leikai, scored 566 out of 600 with letter marks in Manipuri (MM), English, Maths, Science, Social Science and Home Science.
The solemn function held at the school's auditorium was attended by Social Welfare and MOBC, Director, Ng Uttam Singh, St Thomas High School, Headmaster, PV Vakey, Zonal Education Officer, Zone II, M Premchandra Singh, Deputy SP, Manipur Police, A Khelendro Singh and father of M Julendia Devi, M Surjit Singh.
Speaking at the event, Ng Uttam stated that education is not a means to get Government jobs only but a tool to develop personality, reform society and grow the State and Nation.
Talking about the negative impact of mobile phones, Uttam encouraged students to use mobile phones and other technologies wisely and consciously to their benefit.
He lauded the performance of the school in the HSLCE.
