Imphal, June 30 2014:
Under great pressure from disgruntled Congress legislators who are demanding reshuffling of the Ministry to replace 10 Ministers, Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh would be leaving for New Delhi to meet and discuss the issue with AICC high command tomorrow.
Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam is also expected to accompany the Chief Minister during the trip.
According to sources, at least seven Congress MLAs have also planned for a visit to the national capital where they would meet party high command to push for their demand.
The development has come out after 21 Congress legislators paraded before Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh in the morning today and forced him to listen to their demand for hours.
As announced earlier, the disgruntled Congress legislators landed at the Chief Minister's bungalow at around 8 am today and reminded Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh of his earlier assurance of giving Ministerial berths to those Congress MLAs who were left out in the first Ministry expansion after the end of the first half of the term of the current 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly.
After meeting the Chief Minister, the aggrived Congress legislators gathered at the official quarters of MLA of Lamlai A/C Ksh Biren at Kanglapat here to discuss further course of action to be taken up in case the Chief Minister fails to keep his promise.
However, later talking to media, MLA of Kakching A/C Y Surchandra said he was confident that Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh would try his best to end the stalemate during his Delhi visit and a solution is expected before the next State Assembly session.
