The Hill Tribal Council, Moreh, in a statement issued today, extended their appreciation and gratitude to the 43 Assam Rifles and Tengnoupal District Police for their support and assistance to the people of Moreh and its surrounding border villages.
It has been trying time for the people in the border villages following the outbreak of COVID-19 and the Myanmar imbroglio since February.
This unfortunate situation have gravely affected the daily wagers who formed a majority of the population in particular.
The Hill Tribal Council expressed their gratitude to the 43 Assam Rifles for carrying out various community services, extending aid and relief to orphanages and rehabilitation centres, conducting Covid awareness campaign and other developmental programmes.
With the likely impending lockdown following COVID-19 second wave and other possible problems, implementation of local adjustments would be very much required, it added.
The Hill Tribal Council further appealed to the Government agencies to understand the situation while dealing with the civilians in their daily activities.
