AR organises anti Malaria drive

Imphal, August 30 2011:
A team of medical officers and paramedical staff of 37 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR (S) conducted Medical Camp and Medical screening of at primary school of Aibol Joupi village in Samtal Salient on 29 Aug 11. More than 120 diagnosed and medical screening of 30 students were carried in the camp.
A Medical record of all students of the school is being maintained and will be periodically monitored by the medical staff of 37 Assam Rifles to ensure good health of the students and on the same occasion.
Stationary & CSD items were also distributed to the students.
The medical officer delivered a lecture on personal and Oral hygiene to school students and teaching staff.
In another occasion,31 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector under HQ IGAR(South) conducted anti malaria drive, in continuation to efforts to arrest the menace of malaria in Moreh and its adjoining areas.
The unit reached out to the locals residing in far flung villages and provided them with medicated mosquito nets, treated their old nets with chemicals and carried out fogging and fumigation.
In addition, Unit Medical Officer delivered an awareness lecture for the people to understand the methods to prevent such diseases.
Inhabitants were also briefed about the symptoms of the diseases so that an early detection and timely treatment is possible.
All village elders blessed the unit medical team for carrying out such a noble work.
