Local bodies, Kpi police bid farewell to SP, Addl SP

Kangpokpi, September 29 2020: Local bodies of Kangpokpi including Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization and Kangpokpi Youth Union and the Kangpokpi police bid farewell to its SP and Addl SP (LO) following their transfer from the district.

The farewell program held at the Conference Hall of SP Kangpokpi was attended by Hemant Pandey, IPS, the outgoing SP, his wife and children, Kiran Kumar, MPS, the outgoing Addl SP (LO), Lalminlen Misao, MPS Addl SP (Ops), Sony G Sang, MPS, DSP Kangpokpi, Lunkhoseh Lhouvum, MPS, DSP Saparmeina, leaders of KWWO and KYU.

KYU appreciated SP Hemant Pandey for his outstanding contribution towards the development of the district and law and order in particular while also lauding him for establishing good relationship with the public.

As a token of love and appreciation, KYU presented a traditional shawl saipikhup to the SP and wished him good health and success in his new endeavours.

While, KWWO presented the SP's wife with a traditional phanek called khamtang.

Kangpokpi police officers of all ranks also presented a traditional shawl and jacket to the SP and Addl SP (LO) during the farewell function.

Hemant Pandey, IPS has been serving as the Superintendent of Police in Kangpokpi for 3 long years and a change maker in the district police department.

He had established the first ever fitness club in Kangpokpi District and also the first for Kangpokpi Police with an endeavour to infuse fitness and inspire police personnel to adopt a more physically active lifestyle.

The IPS officer also equipped most of the Police Stations with vehicles which and brought much change in its functioning and administration.

He had also made huge contributions in the fight against the pandemic COVID-19 in the district.

Hemant Pandey was transferred to MPTC while P Singsit, IPS will serve as the new SP of the district.
