Mao Students' Union decries lack of work progress along NH-2

Senapati, June 27 2019:
The Mao (Ememei) Students' Union (MSU) in public interest expressed discontentment over the construction work at National Highway-2.The student body particularly pointed at the construction works from Makhan Khuman to Mao gate being taken up by BIPL through PWD under Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways.
There is little progress in the work and the stretch lacks drainage system and retaining wall, the student body said.

With monsoon on, the road will further deteriorated causing immense inconveniences to people, said the student body demanding a good drainage system and retaining wall along the stretch.
Appealing the construction agency to strictly adhere to the prescribed guidelines and take up the work efficiently, the student body said it will take legal course of action if their appeals are not heard.
