Imphal, July 26 2021:
Shiv Sena state president M Tombi has called upon all the political parties in the state not to allot party tickets for contesting elections to political turncoats saying they are more interested in hopping between parties.
Interestingly, Tombi shared his views to media persons on the sidelines of a felicitation function of new members, who joined the party after leaving Congress.
During the function held at the party office here on Monday, Tombi said that a new trend of MLAs shifting political allegiance is prevailing in the state.
There are several MLAs, who could not remain for even five years in the opposition bench.
It is time for all the political parties to teach such politicians a lesson by not entertaining their entry or allotting them party tickets in elections, he said.
The forthcoming assembly election will be fought among Congress, BJP and Manipur Democratic Alliance of which the Shiv Sena is an ally, he said and confided that his party is planning to field women candidates in 20 per cent of the seats it will contest and that the party will adopt a new strategy against money and muscle power in election.
