Chaos erupted at Pallel Outpost, Bodies imposes indefinite NH-102 Bandh

Indefinite bandh has been imposed on Imphal-Moreh road from midnight of November 23 by the Kuki Students Organisation, Thadou Students Organisations and other Kuki organisations demanding unconditional release of a boy who had been arrested by Pallel Police personnel following an incident of stone pelting at the outpost by around 20 persons tonight.
Around 7.40 tonight, around 20 persons forcibly intruded into a hotel opened at Pallel area and vandalized the articles of the hotel, according to police sources.
After coming out from the hotel, the miscreants who were apparently drunk shouted derogatory words to the Pallel police outpost under the Kakching police Station.
Besides attacking the sentry at the gate with stones, the miscreants broke a helogen bulb erected at the police outpost, said the source, adding that the individuals ran away along the Aimol road.
When police commandoes conducted search operation to nab the culprits, a boy named Tongkhohao, son of Ngamsan of Leishan Village, who was staying at his uncle's house at Tuinom village.
He boy is a class IX student of Ideal High School, Pallel.
People of the area thronged the Pallel Out post demanding his release, as they said the arrested boy was an innocent student who was reading at home.
Police used teargas shells to disperse the mob injuring two persons.
The students organisations and several Kuki bodies have imposed the indefinite bandh on National Highway 102 from midnight tonight demanding the unconditional release of the student and suspension of police commandoes involved in the arrest of the boy.
