Man killed, housewife succumbs

Imphal, August 21 2011:
A 24 years old youth was killed in a clash with a friend at Kongpal Kshetri Leikai yesterday night.
The victim has been identified as Kshetrimayum Gobin son of Rameshwar of Kongpal Sabal Leikai.
He went out with a friend on his Bajaj Pulsar at around 3 pm on August 20.One Kshetrimayum Opa (40) of Kongpal Kshetri Leikai came at the victim's house at around 2 am and told his family members that Gobin had fell into the Kongba River during a clash.
On hearing the news, family members hired a muslim and searched for Gobin.
The dead body of Gobin was found at around 6 am today morning with his hands tied.
There were injury marks on his head, right toe and right eye.
Smelling foul on the news delivered by Opa, local people of Gobin swarmed the house of Opa and began to ransack his property when police intercepted them and prevented from further damages.
Porompat police arrest Opa, his brother Rameshwar, Waikhom Tompok and another person in connection with the suspected murder for further investigation.
The dead body was recovered by the Porompat police and kept at the JNIMS mortuary.
Meanwhile, a young housewife who has been undergoing treatment in RIMS hospitals after she was injured while trying to kill herself by burning after pouring kerosene has succumbed today due to her injuries.
The victim identified as Lourembam Ongbi Rebika (22) wife of Sanjoy was a resident of Mayang Imphal Loubuk Leikai.
She was survived by a little daughter of 18 months.
