Malemnganba brought back to Imphal

Imphal, May 21 2011:
Self-styled Commander-in-Chief of KCP (MC) Malemnganba group arrested by Delhi police from Bangalore on May 10, was brought to the state by a Thoubal police team today.
Nongthombam Anand alias Malemnganba (36) was nabbed in Bangalore, following investigations into the seizure of 200 kg Ephedirine worth ` 2 crore from an alleged KCP (MC) activist in New Delhi.
He has been brought here to be investigated into various pending cases against him with the police, said an official source.
Nongthombam Anand is alleged to be involved in several extortion related violence and attacks on private mobile operators besides his alleged involvement in planting a car bomb inside the Manipur Raj Bhavan in 2008 .
Delhi Police claimed he is the C-in-C of KCP (MC) Malemnganba group.
Anand faces several charges under UAP Act and smuggling of narcotic substances under investigation by Delhi Police.
The KCP(MC) had, in a press statement on May 12, clarified that there is no one by the name of Malemnganba alias Anand Nongthombam (34) of Khurai Sajor Leikai, who is a class IV literate within the ranks of the outfit.
