Traditional last rites of Kuki Inpi Kumpipa performed

Lhamonna Kosa, the traditional last rites of Late Thangkhosei Haokip, Kumpipa (President) of Kuki Inpi was performed today at his residence at Sangnute Inn, Phaipijang Langol.
The traditional last rites was jointly organized by Kuki Inpi Manipur, KSO and its federating Kuki civil society organization where Rev Sholun Haokip, Pastor, Langol Independent Church attended as the ceremony minister.
Various prominent politicians of the State including former Chief Minister, Okram Ibobi Singh, Water Resources and YAS Minister Letpao Haokip, HAC Chairman Thangzalam Haokip, Thanlon MLA Vungzagin Valte, president NPP Thangminlen Kipgen, president North East India Democratic Party (NEIDP) Doukhomang Khongsai also attended the traditional last rites of Kumpipa (L) Thangkhosei Haokip.

UCM, AMUCO, Kuki State Demand Committee (KSDC), Kuki Research Forum, Komrem Union, Hmar Inpui, Gangte Tribe Union also attended the ceremony apart from various Kuki civil society organizations including KSO-GHQ and all KSO district units.
Rev Dr Satkhokai Chongloi, Semang, Kuki Inpi, Lunpi S Thangjom, president, Kuki Inpi Manipur, Khaimang Chongloi, Hemjathang Khongsai, Paotinthang Lupheng, president, KSO-GHQ.
Kamkhohao Khongsai, chairman STC, KSO also participated in the traditional last rites of Kumpipa Late Thangkhosei Haokip.
The Kumpi (President) of the Kuki Inpi, Thangkhosei Haokip passed away on December 28, 2018 noon at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal due to heart ailments.
The Kuki community had observed globally two days mourning over his demise.
Late Thangkhosei Haokip, Kumpipa had served as general secretary of Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) from 2006-2009, president, Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) from 2009-2012, 2012-2015 (two terms) and later nominated as Kuki Inpi Kumpipa and Advisor to KIM from 2017-2019.He also served as president, Kuki Chief Association, Chandel District, Manipur (2002-2003); general secretary, Haokip Students' Organizations and member in Haokip People's Council.
The mortal remain of the Late Kumpipa was laid to rest at his native village, H Mongjang in Tengnoupal District on December 30, 2018 where he is also the village chief.
