Imphal, February 13 2022:
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state president Soram Iboyaima said that no party will get absolute majority in the ensuing state assembly election and NCP will be part of the new government.
Speaking at a flag hoisting ceremony of NCP candidate for Khurai assembly constituency Khuraijam Ratankumar held at Ausmera complex, Kangla Sangomsang Awang Leikai on Sunday, Iboyaima noted that every political analyst is of the view that no party will get absolute majority and a coalition government will be formed in the state.
Though major parties like Congress and BJP are contesting from all the assembly constituencies as per their policies, NCPis fielding only eight candidates and at least two or three of them will win the election.
These elected candidates of NCP will become part of the coalition government, he said.
Khuraijam Ratankumar said that Khurai AC has been moving backward in terms of development and he has his own vision for bringing economic development and self-reliance in the constituency.
Once elected, he will prioritise improvement of irrigation facility to keep the farmlands green round the year.
Accusing the Khurai MLA of utilising LDA machineries like his private properties, he said that the authority should look into the matter and take up necessary actions.
At the same time, the MLA is often boasting of owning 100 trucks and the Election Commission of India should look into it, Ratankumar said.
He also alleged that the MLA delayed the scrutiny process by making baseless arguments knowing that he would definitely lose the election this time.
