Imphal, March 09, 2013:
Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF) and its armed wing, Kuki People's Army (KPA) celebrated its 5th raising day at its tactical headquarters at Munpi on March 6. Addressing the gathering present on the occasion, Chairman of the outfit Palen Kuki recalled the initial days when a few heads sat together and dreamt for the future of a Kuki Nation and said that dream is becoming a reality today.
"While striving for our liberation movement, we have faced lots of ups and downs and hurdles, but I thank god for his guidance during this short period of five years which lead us to many glorious moments beyond our expectation", the Chairman observed, adding that he also extended gratitude to its mother organisation for guidance in every step.
The Chairman went on to say that following the Kuki Revolt, 1917-1919, many Kuki revolutionary groups have given birth in the last three decades but unfortunately the spirit of their revolutionary movements have become meaningless after signing of SoO with the Government.
"The SoO signed between Kuki UG groups and the Centre/ State Government is a strategy to suppress the true revolutionary movement of the Kukis and to create enmity among the people of Manipur, particularly among the Kuki society.
Therefore, KNLF/KPA will not compromise the Kuki people's aspiration and Nationalism under SoO table.
Instead, the Kuki People's Army and its frontal organisation will fight back any challenges that may come without any fear", the Chairman said.
