Awareness on wildlife conservation

As part of the inaugural function of the divisional level celebration of the 61st Wildlife Week celebration, Northern Forest Division, Kangpokpi has organized a one day awareness programme on wildlife conservation at Kanggui Christian College, Kangpokpi, reports our correspondent.
Spot painting and essay writing competition were the main highlight of the event.
The event was attended by Chiphang Arthur Worchuiyo, Deputy Commissioner, Senapati and K Kabib, Superintendent of Police, Senapati as the chief guest and functional president.
Vinod Kumar DK, IFS, DFO, Northern Forest Division, Kangpokpi, department officials and more than 300 students attended the awareness programme.
Documentary on wildlife conservation was also screened.
Speaking at the occasion, DC C Arthur Worchuiyo said that wildlife conservation is an act of consuming natural resources responsibly.
The Deputy Commissioner urged the people to co-operate one another and come with various ways to conserve wildlife.
While advocating the necessity of conserving Wildlife, SP K Kabib said that people had survived so many years without mobile phone and will be able to live without it.
However, people can survive for long if ecological balance is not maintained, SP K Kabib added.
