Amounts for Old Age Pensions will be increased: N Loken

The amount of money paid to the old aged people of the state by the state government will be increased announced Social Welfare Minister N Loken on the occasion of the International Day of the Older Persons held at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen today.
The function which was organized by the Department of Social Welfare under the theme "Health Care for Senior Citizens" was graced by Minister N Loken and Letkhogin Haokip, Commissioner, Social Welfare as the Chief Guest and President respectively.
Swami Gopalkrishnanda, Divine Life Society, Sivanada Ashram Rishikesh and K Sanajaoba, Jt Director were the Guest of Honour of the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister N Loken said that very soon the amount of money given to the old aged people will be increased from Rs 100 to Rs 200 / month.
The issue will be brought up discussed in a cabinet meeting.
He said that, due to the shortage of funds on the part of the state government no Old Aged Homes have been set up by the state government so far.
But as soon as enough funds arrive, setting up of Old Aged Homes will be finalized.
Nevertheless different NGOs have set up Homes for the old aged people by taking funds from the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
