Inaugural function held to observe 'Irabot Month' at Jiri

Jananeta Irawat Memorial Trust (JIMET), Jiribam conducted a social service at Babupara, Jiribam district today from 7 am while inaugural function which marked the beginning of the Irabot Month was held at Community Centre, Babupara Jiribam in the afternoon.
Ranjit Kumar Singh, general secretary JIMET said that that the social service which was conducted with active participation from the members of JIMET, Jiribam Manipur is a part of the Irabot Month.
Jiribam police and Fire service personnel also took part in the social service.
Sagapam Shanti Devi, chairperson Jiribam Municipal Council (JMC), Dr RK Ranjan Singh, advisor, Irabot Foundation Manipur (IFM), Kh Nishikanta Singh, president IFM, Hena Vaiphei, president Vaiphei Peoples' Council (VPC), Jiribam.
Heisnam Basulal Singh (MPS), Addl SP Jiribam District Police and Dr Chandam Kamal Singh, life time president JIMET attended the inaugural function as presidium members.
The inaugural function began with the lighting of ceremonial lamp by the presidium members while Ranjit Kumar Singh, general secretary JIMET delivered the welcome and keynote speech to explain the underlying meaning of holding the month long observance.
On the occasion, many invitees also spoke regarding the observance while Dr N Bijaya Devi, Principal, Jiri College spoke on the topic 'Irabot and literature' as resource person.
Khaidem Kanta Singh, general secretary Manipuri Short Story Society of India, Lakhipur spoke on the topic 'Cachar and Irabot' while Dr Arunkumar Mangang, Asst Prof Jiri College narrated a story on 'life of Irabot and contemporary Irabot' as resource person.
