One day special vendor development programme

National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), National SC/ST Hub Office, Guwahati and NSIC Limited, Sub Office, Imphal in association with Food Corporation of India (FCI), Regional Office, Manipur, Imphal organized a one day special vendor development programme for SC/ST entrepreneurs at MSME-Development Institute, Takyelpat on August 29.M Rupam Singh, Area Manager, FCI, District Office, Imphal and D Mitra, Deputy Director, MSME-DI, Imphal graced the function as chief guest and president respectively while MTDC Chairman P Loken Singh among others attended the function as guests of honour.
Speaking on the sideline of the function, Deputy Manager of NSIC Limited, Sub Office, Imphal conveyed that the programme was organized with the main objective of creating awareness to the local entrepreneurs belonging to SC and ST about the facilities and avenues for marketing their products to the Government agencies.
She went on inform that for procurement of goods and items of the Government agencies, like FCI, there is a reservation of four percent of tide total things that are to be purchased to provide as a step towards encouraging the local entrepreneurs who have registered in the NSIC.
The process of marketing norms is even simplified in the present days with the acceptance of e-tender/on-line process.
However, many local entrepreneurs are still unaware of this and they are finding it hard to sell their products.
Hence, to create awareness and as a step towards promoting the products the local entrepreneurs, the programme is being organized, she added.
