Tengnoupal police publishes half yearly report

Tengnoupal district police, in the last six months, seized illegal drug items worth more than Rs 3 crore (in the international market) and arrested six individuals, including a minor.
According to the official report of Tengnoupal district police, the district police, under the supervision of SP, S Ibomcha, have launched numerous drives in the district against illicit drug items as well as to prevent entry of illegal migrants from Myanmar.
In July, a combined team of Tengnoupal police and 12 AR arrested five individuals, including a juvenile, from Kwatha junction along with 127 grams of brown sugar, 509 grams of heroin powder (grade I quality) and 6970 numbers of WY tablets, worth a total of Rs 3,39,00000.In the same month, one more person was arrested from Moreh Ward number 3 along with 29,000 numbers of pseudoephedrine defaced tablets.
In December, Tengnoupal district police seized 40 gold bars of foreign origin, weighing around 6.6423 kgs, worth around Rs 2 crore, and two Maruti Omni vans and arrested two smugglers as well.
As part of counter insurgency operations, Tengnoupal district police arrested 22 UG militants and seized three pistols along with magazines, 14 live ammunition rounds and one HK rifle with a magazine.
On the other hand, Moreh police including commando personnel carried out daily patrolling along the border as part of the measures to prevent entry of illegal migrants, including Rohingya Muslims and smugglers.
The police team also carried out house search and sensitization in the border area from time to time.
