Smile Troch: Painting competition for school children held

As a part of Smile Train India's "Smile Torch" event, Shija Foundation has conducted a painting competition for school students at IMA Hall, Lamphelpat today.
Celebrating 20 years of Smile Train in India, Smile Torch is being organised commemorate the efforts taken to spread awareness about clefts and impact on transforming lives of children born with clefts in India.
A cleft is a gap or split in the upper lip and/or roof of the mouth (palate).
Cleft lip and cleft palate are birth defects that occur when a baby's lip or mouth do not form properly during pregnancy.
'Smile Walks', a rally to create awareness on clefts will also be organised on May 1.The rally will begin from Kangla Western Gate and end at THAU ground, Imphal.
Culminating ceremony, to show patronage to Smile Train partners and share experience with patients and their families, will be held at IMA Hall, Lamphelpat on May 2.Governor Najma Heptulla will attend the event as chief guest, said officials.
