Nemcha Kipgen urges youths to give equal importance to sports and studies

Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Nemcha Kipgen inaugurated the Annual Sports Cum Literary Meet, organized by Kholep Youth Club, Kangpokpi, at Pu Jamdem Memorial Ground, Kangpokpi District today.
Speaking at the occasion as the chief guest, Minister Nemcha stressed on the importance of sports and education in shaping the youths for a healthy and a disciplined lifestyle and encouraged the youngsters to take up sports as a hobby or a profession.
She also urged them to give equal importance to studies as well.
As Manipur is a multi-ethnic State with different language, dialect and diverse communities, Minister Nemcha urged everyone to stand united as one and bring rapid development in the State.
Nemcha Kipgen also highlighted the various welfare programmes and schemes taken up under her Department and called upon the people to avail the schemes.
She lauded the people of Kholep village for maintaining their "Clean Kholep, Green Kholep and Healthy Kholep campaign" while stating that maintaining cleanliness of the environment will help foster developmental lifestyle and thinkings.
As a part of the inaugural function, numerous saplings were planted by the Minister and other dignitaries present today, in support of "Clean Kholep, Green Kholep and Healthy Kholep" campaign.
Principal cum Administrator, Eklavya Model Residential School, Dr Ngamkhohao Haokip and Chairman, Kholep Village Authority, Hemkholun Haokip graced the event as guest of honour and president respectively.
