Handloom exhibition concludes

The 6th Kanglei Ningol Khudol Handloom Exhibition-2011 which commenced from October 16 organized by the Apunba kanglei Sinnaibi Lup (AKSIL) was concluded today at GM Hall.
The closing function of the handloom exhibition which was held today at GM Hall was graced by Ph Laibi, Secretary, Mahila Weaving Co-Operative Society, Andro and Th Gomti Leima, President, AKSIL as the Chief Guest and President respectively.
RK Radhasana, stall member, W Kalpana, Secretary, Thoubal District Council and Kh Mema, Secretary, Bishnupur District Council were the Guests of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary of AKSIL said that the exhibition which was organized for the last 12 days was mainly held to help in curtailing the rising trend of giving costly and imported gifts by the brothers to their sisters on the occasion of Ningol Chakkouba.
It was also organized with the motive of spreading the bond of love and affection among the brothers and sisters.
Goods worth Rs 1,15,209,550 was sold at the exhibition thereby reducing a huge lot of money from draining away from the state.
Certificates were also distributed to the participants of the exhibition on the occasion.
