ATUM condemns death threat

Imphal, February 27 2017:
Aimol Tribe Union Manipur (ATUM) has today alleged some suspected NSCN-IM for threatening Ngairong Aimol villagers to vote for NPF candidates.
Speaking to mediapersonss at Kuki Inn, Manipur office, ATUM president RT Akhel Aimol said, "Amid the villagers demand to not shift 3 IRB post from the village, some suspected armed NSCN-IM cadres came to the village on February 14 and threatened Ngairong villagers to vote for NPF candidates in the ensuing State Assembly election.
Such act is highly condemnable and at the same time should not be repeated" .
He added that the villagers have been urging the authority concerned not to shift the 3 IRB post as the deployment of the security personnel can maintain the law and order situation in the area.
He also condemned the alleged death threat to Tengnoupal ADC Executive Member Chanthoi Aimol two weeks back by some unidentified armed miscreants.
