Community service / security meet held

Mantripukhri and Thoubal Battalions of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a community service and security meet on November 24 with an aim to interact with the local populace as well as sensitise them in regards to existing security situation in the area.
The community service cum interaction was organised by Yangangpokpi COB of Mantripukhri Battalion at Lamlai Khullen.
The interaction aims to familiarise and orient troops of the COB with the locals as well as identify with their local customs and traditions.
The event commenced with offering of prayers followed by an interaction with the villagers.
The interaction proved to be of immense significance as over 120 villagers willingly shared their various issues of concern.
Meanwhile, as part of the security meet conducted by Chandrakhong COB of Thoubal Battalion, locals were updated on current situation existing in the area of responsibility.
An interaction was also carried out on necessary measures required to be undertaken for maintaining a strict vigil against illicit activities in the area, future action plan in respect of civic action projects.
The attendees were also sensitised regarding the ill effects of drugs among the youth and to guide them to lead a healthy and prosperous life and helping to create a drug free environment.
The security forum was attended by the ward Councillors, Pradhans, youth Club members and representative.
The locals expressed their gratitude and appreciated the efforts of Assam Rifles for conducting such security meetings and ensuring peace in the area and assured their commitment and assistance in maintaining the same.
