Imphal, May 24 2023:
National Identity Protection Council (NIPCO) too has demanded the Centre and the State Government to scrap the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement signed with Kuki militants.
In a statement it released to the media yesterday, NIPCO said the Central security forces deployed in the State have failed to control the SoO Kuki militants.
The Kuki militants, it said, are breaking ground rules of the SoO pact and attacking Meitei villages at foothills.
The Kuki outfits should be declared as terrorists, it added.
On the other hand, NIPCO said it has received reports of shops selling essential items at inflated prices taking advantage of the present situation.
Urging all shops and wholesalers not to hike prices of essential items and other commodities, it said people who come across shops selling goods at inflated prices may contact it and register their complaints on mobile nos 7005151329/879848548/8787601922 .
NIPCO also appealed to the Government and its Department concerned to fix prices of all essential items.
