MLAs' representatives rebut claim on NFSA rice

Imphal, February 22 2018: Representatives of MLAs of constituencies in Bishnupur district have refuted the claim made by Demand Committee Against Erratic PDS Supply Under NFSA 2013 through local media that NFSA rice for eight months in Bishnupur district has been misappropriated by a group of wrongdoers including FCS staff, FPS agents, nominees and contractors.

Addressing a press meet held today at Manipur Press Club, Oinam Chandrababu, representative of Thanga A/C MLA Tongbram Robindro Singh, clarified that there were no misappropriation of NFSA rice by FCS staff, agents, nominees and contractors.

He mentioned that the representatives of the MLAs of Bishnupur district do not recognise Demand Committee Against Erratic PDS Supply Under NFSA 2013 .

He said that the representatives of MLAs never heard the committee in the past and never held talks with it regarding allocation and distribution of NFSA rice.

Claiming that NFSA rice is being distributed to the beneficiaries in Bishnupur district just like other districts and that there is no pending for any months, Chandrababu said that the representatives do not want to further clarify and retort to anyone in this regard.

The press meet was also attended by the representatives of Bishnupur A/C MLA Govindas Konthouajam, Nambol A/C MLA N Loken, Oinam A/C MLA L Radhakishore and Kumbi A/C MLA S Bira Singh.
