NCP not in the group endorsing Dr Nara

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Manipur State Unit has clarified that the party has no intention of supporting the CPI candidate Dr M Nara in the coming Lok Sabha Election.
Talking to media persons here today, Secretary of NCP, Manipur State Unit S Iboyaima said that the inclusion of NCP among the 10 political parties endorsing Dr Nara was very unfortunate.
There was no such decision of the party.
The national leaders of NCP would soon take a final decision on the Lok Sabha polls, he added.
Meanwhile, Manipur People's Party (MPP) has reacted strongly to the non-Congress and non-BJP parties for choosing CPI State Secretary Dr Nara as their common candidate.
Spokesperson of MPP H Nabashyam said a common candidate should not contest the election under the banner of a political party.
The MPP would take its own decision on Lok Sabha polls after the central committee meeting scheduled on January 31 .
The MPP leader also demanded a high-level inquiry to probe alleged malpractices in the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors and Jemadars of Manipur Police.
