CM appeals doctors working outside to come back and serve the people of the State

Chief Minister N Biren Singh said that skilled physicians, specialists and super-specialists doctors of Manipur who are working outside the State should think of coming back and serving the people of the State .
Speaking as the chief guest of the inaugural function of the Imphal Heart Institute, today, CM N Biren lauded the efforts of Dr Athouba Arambam and Dr Kh Ratankumar for setting up the Imphal Heart Institute in the State and added that such initiative of establishing a hospital would render immense human service to the public.
He appreciated the sacrifices and commitments made by the doctors and paramedical staff in delivering medical services and opined that the need of the hour is to uphold an ethical and quality profession in every field .
"We should focus on rendering human service so that there would be inclusive development in the State", he added.
He also announced that the State Government is planning to introduce a new healthcare scheme 'Hakshelgi Tengbang' from January 1, next year for providing medical health care to the underprivileged sections of the society .
The Government would discuss about the improving Mother's Care Hospital and Imphal Heart Institute so that people can avail medical facilities under the new healthcare scheme 'Hakshelgi Tengbang', he added .
Stating that the present Government is working on war footing basis to bring development with cooperation and support from the people, he further announced that there would be Imphal-Delhi direct flight twice or thrice a week from January, 2018 .
Minister for Health and Family Welfare L Jayantakumar Singh, MLA of Sagolband AC RK Imo, Chairman and Managing Director of Imphal Heart Institute and Mother's Care Children Hospital and Research Center Dr Kh Ratankumar Singh, Director of Imphal Heart Institute Dr Athouba Arambam and others attended the function.
