Imphal, August 18 2016:
Govern ment Polytechnic Students' Union
has threatened to launch an intense agitation if the State
Government does not repair the institution at the earliest.
Speaking to reporters, union managing secretary Naorem
Bhumeshwar said that the some portions of the institute build-
ing suffered damages during the January 4 earthquake.
Since
then, students could not attend classes normally.
All this time, the State Government has not taken up any
repairing work though IIT experts who inspected the building
announced the building is unsafe for students.
Surprisingly, the State Government stated that nothing will
happen and asked the students to attend classes normally.
Moreover, there has been no power in girls' hostel for quite
some time.
Viewing the hindrances to the academic career, immediate
repairing work should be initiated or else the student union
would be compelled to launch an intense agitation, Naorem Bhumeshwar said.
