Govt of India ready to start political dialogue with Kukis: Aaron, UPF

Political dialogue with the Kukis is expected to begin shortly with the assurance coming from the Union Home Ministry to the UPF and KNO delegate members who are currently in the capital.
UPF Political Wing Convener Aaron Kipgen, who is one of the UPF and KNO delegate members in Delhi informed this in a telephonic conversation.
The UPF and KNO delegates met RN Ravi, who is the Interlocutor of the Naga Peace Talk in the capital and discussed the political issues of the Kukis.
"The discussion with RN Ravi carries great weight for the Kukis", anticipated the UPF Convener.
Aaron Kipgen further said that the Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh seemed to be interested in starting the political dialogue with the UPF and KNO and has put forward the proposal to the Union Home Secretary to initiate political dialogue with the two groups at the earliest.
The UPF Convener said that UPF and KNO, the two umbrella organisations of Kuki groups have decided to pursue one political demand in its joint meeting at Churachandpur on September 13 .
However, Aaron Kipgen did not disclose what will be the "political demand" of the two umbrella organisations or what were they actually pursuing on.
He said that the matter is "too early to disclose it" .
While lauding the collective and enthusiastic efforts of the Kuki civil society organisations, Aaron Kipgen said that all the "affirmative and meaningful discussion with the Government of India and all the weight, the UPF and KNO delegates achieved from the Central Government comes from the unity and cooperative struggle of the Kuki civil society organisations including church leaders, chiefs, etc" .
The UPF Political Wing Convener also said that the delegate members of UPF and KNO also met with the Tribal Forum Manipur, Delhi in connection with the prevailing situation of Manipur and had a fruitful discussion on the issue while sharing opinions and approach.
Aaron further said that the Central Government is likely to send its delegates in Churachandpur to take stock of the situation and take up proper measures in connection with the prevailing situation of Manipur.
