State presses Centre for increasing PMGSY beneficiaries to 1000

Manipur government has submitted a proposal for increasing the number of beneficiaries of Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMGSY) from existing 500 to 1000 and enhancing of margin money to Rs 14 crore a year, said principal secretary (Commerce and Industries), O Nabakishore today.
Speaking at the concluding function of the IDP training programme of the PMGSY beneficiaries held at the conference hall of the Institute of Cooperative Management (IMC), Lamphelpat, the principal secretary asserted that the Centre allocated 450 projects for the year 2011-12 with a margin money of Rs 630 lakhs under the scheme.
The training programme was organized by the IMC under the sponsorship of the Khadi and Village Industries, Mumbai.
The concluding function was attended by the chairman of the IMC, Kh Borkishore, director Dr Kh Somorendro, assistant director of state Khadi and Village Industries commission Sale Pao.
