National Integration Tour concludes

National Integration Tour (NIT) organised by Sendra Battalion of Loktak Brigade under Red Shield Division was flagged in today after successful completion of the tour at Jaipur and Jodhpur.
A total of eighteen students and two teachers of Kangvai Higher Secondary School, Churachandpur has participated in the tour.
During the tour, the team visited Pink City Jaipur (Oct 1 to 4) and Jodhpur (Oct 6 - 7).During the visit of Jaipur, the students visited numbers of historical and cultural places of tourist interest including Amer Fort, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar Observatory and Jal Mahal, Nahargarh Fort.
They also visited City Palace and interacted with the Royal Family of Jaipur.
The students interacted with Lieutenant General Cherish Mathson, Army Commander, South Western Command.
During the interaction with the royal family and the Army Commander, the students highlighted the rich culture and traditions of the State and the aspirations of the present generation.
In Jodhpur, the students visited of places of tourist interests like Umed Bhavan Palace, Balsamand Lake, Ranisar Lake and Ghanta Ghar and an Army and Airforce Station where they witnessed surface to air missiles of army as well as fighter jets of Indian Air Force.
The team said that the tour has left a lasting impression on them.
The tour not only widen the intellectual horizon of the young minds but also deepened the spirit of Natioinalism.
The students, their parents and teachers lauded the efforts put in by the Security Forces to make the tour a thumping success and memorable.
The tour was flagged off from Battalion Headquarters at Kangvai on September 28.The aim of the NIT was also to acquaint the children with the heritage and rich culture of other parts of the country and provide an opportunity to gain knowledge and expand their horizons, thereby, motivating them to work for a better future, said a statement of PIB (Defence Wing) .
