No cash in UBI Tamenglong branch

Tamenglong, June 12 2013:
Apart from acute shortage of manpower, the lone United Bank of India (UBI), Tamenglong branch is facing shortage of currency.
The ATM machine installed near the bank has been remaining without cash much to the inconveniences of the people.
A visit to the lone bank in Tamenglong district HQs today revealed that excluding the Deputy Manager, there are only two staffs working in the bank.
When inquired, the Deputy Bank Manger (UBI) Tamenglong Branch informed that out of four sanctioned post for officers only two officers including the Manager have been posted and out of four sanctioned posts for staffs only three have been posted.
The Deputy Bank Manger also disclosed that disbursal of MGNREGS wages and other government bills including the salaries of the state government employees have been halted due to lack of currency in the bank since 10 June 2013 .
At present the bank has more than 10,000 customers.
The update of bank accounts under its "Know Your Customer" (KYC) was seen being dumped at one corner of the congested bank due to lack of manpower.
