According to local reports, the fire started from Domini Founders' House.
Even though the exact cause of the fire is not yet known, it is suspected that the fire may have been ignited from a faulty electric short circuit.
Following detection of the fire, local people immediately rushed in to put off the fire.
But explosion of gas cylinders one after another fueled the fire to grow and spread.
With the assistance of BRTF, CRPF, Assam Rifles and personnel of North Eastern Frontier Railways, the local residents managed to put off the fire.
Meanwhile, Zeliangrong Baudi, Manipur (ZBM) has urged one and all to extend assistance either in cash or kind for the victims of Noney fire.
