Thoubal, June 06 2020:
MLA of Khangabok Assembly Constituency, Okram Surjakumar has appealed the State Government to make arrangement to conduct the testing process of COVID-19 faster or else lower the intake rate in the State.
Speaking to media persons during a tree plantation programme held today at quarantine centres in Thoubal and Khangabok Assembly Constituencies, he said the volunteers and local leaders are facing a hard time because of the pressure from the inmates as well as their guardians waiting for their test results.
He said that inmates who have been staying at the quarantine centres for more than 14 days are still waiting for their test results.
Subsequently, on the other hand new ones are coming in everyday leading to mixing of the old-timer and newcomer.
"The situation is becoming quite unmanageable now.
So, I appeal to the State Government to make arrangements to conduct the test faster or else lower the rate at which people are bringing into the State," he said.
