IFM asks for financial assistance to 2017 flood victims

Irabot Foundation, Manipur (IFM) has appealed the State Government to distribute financial assistance to the farmers who were affected by the 2017 flood and last year's drought-like situation.
IFM secretary Khunjamayum Gopen while speaking to The Sangai Express informed that most of the affected farmers are yet to get the financial assistance of the 2017 flood till today although the said fund has already been released.
He further asserted that the farmers affected by the last year drought-like situation are yet to get financial assistance.
Stating that the farmers are being severely affected by the ongoing lockdown and curfew, the secretary appealed that the State Government should distribute financial assistance of the 2017 flood and 2019 drought considering the hardship they are facing.
He also appealed the civil bodies, NGOs and individuals to extend every possible help to those who are being affected by the ongoing lockdown and curfew.
IFM has extended food grain, eggs, vegetables and monetary assistance to Yaibilen Children Home at Keibi Sonapat recently, he said.
