JSCC for strict dress code

Imphal, January 06 2013 :
The Joint Students Co-ordination Committee (JSCC), a conglomeration of six student bodies of the state namely AMSU, DESAM, MSF, KSA, SWAK and SUK, has informed all the students in the state to stick to the dress code from the 2013 academic session.
According to the dress code announced by JSCC, students from class I to VII have to wear pants/skirts and students above class VII are to wear Phanek for girls and pants for boys.
Moreover, lady teachers should not be allowed to wear saree, half-saree and salwar kameez but to maintain a uniform dress code for which the teachers and the school authority should finalized.
The colour of the uniform is to be decided by the concerned school authority.
The school authority should also not allow the teachers or the students to wear indecent clothes on other occasions/functions, Convenor of JSCC Longjam Umakanta Meitei elaborated in a statement.
The statement also made it clear that ban on use of mobile phones inside the classroom and
tobaccos would remain.
