The Kangleipak Students' Association has asked all who are dealing in betel leaves, betel nuts, liquor and tobacco products to come to its office at the earliest. In a statement, the student's organisation said that COVID cases are increasing in the State at an alarming rate despite the lockdown imposed and formulating SOPs.It also claimed that tobacco products and intoxicants are still available in the State widely though the Government bans selling and consumption of such items to slow down COVID spreads.
Seeking support from the public in its drive against intoxicants and tobacco products, KSA also urged all shopkeepers and business people to refrain from selling the said 'banned' items. The statement body also said that they will submit a memorandum to the Airport Authority of India and transporters' border operating in the State not to ferry intoxicants.
