Association urges not to spread baseless rumours

Young Star Organization (YSO), Kshetri Bengoon Mamang Leikai, Imphal East and the villagers displaced by the eviction drive conducted at Awaching and who are now taking shelter in thereliefcamp opened at the locality, have appealed to the people and organizations not to create any false propaganda against any individual who help and provide assistance to the affected people.
They also asked all concerned to work for the rehabilitation of the displaced villagers at the earliest citing that they are now homeless and are facing immense hardship.
Speaking to media persons at the relief camp today, YSO president Abdul Bariq asserted that the displaced villagers have been taking shelter at a relief camp set up at Khetri Bengoon Mamang Leikai after their homes were destroyed in the eviction drive by the State Government.
He said that the relief camp is being set up by the local club in view of the problems faced by the affected villagers, and one Noor Hassan of Kshetrigao A/C has been taking a pivotal role in the opening of the relief camp as well as in operating it He further asked all not to make any false information or propaganda against Noor Hasan and claimed that some individuals have tried to malign the reputation of the said individual by spreading false information through social media as well as verbally.
He also informed that YSO and the displaced villagers who are taking shelter inside the relief camp have also boycotted three individuals from entering the relief camp in connection with the issue.
The president also urged all those who want to provide any form of assistance to the displaced villagers to do so to the displaced villagers directly instead of using intermediaries.
The displaced villagers also conveyed their untold miseries to the media personnel due to loss of their homes.
