Imphal, August 02 2016:
The women vendors of Ima Keithel No 2 and 3 who were shifted to a new temporary market shed behind Johnstone Higher Secondary School have decided to sell their wares around the new temporary market shed from tomorrow.
In a statement, the women vendors said that the decision was taken as the Government has not translated their promise into action.
On July 21 last, they said, Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai came to the new market shed and requested on behalf of the State Government to wait for 10 days.
The women vendors along with the Minister also met Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam on the day.
During the meeting, Gaikhangam assured the women vendors to start works from August.
However, no work is visible till date, they said.
