Imphal, April 01 2009:
The Government of India has entrusted the CBI to investigate into two FIRs filed at different Police Stations relating to the abduction and killing of Dr Thingnam Kishan, SDO Kasom Khullen and two of his subordinates and attempts, abetments and conspiracies in relation to the offence or any other offences committed in the course of the transaction or arising out of the same facts.
The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Personnel and Training, Government of India, through its notification dated March 24, 2009 issued by the Under Secretary, Chandra Prakash has extended the power and jurisdiction to investigate the abduction and killing.
According to the order 'the Central Government with the consent of the Government of Manipur, Home Department, Imphal extends the power and jurisdiction of the members of the Delhi Special Police Establishment to the whole of the state of Manipur for investigation of FIR No.8(2)09 under sections 365, 368 and 34 of the IPC, 1860 (Act No 45 of 1860) registered at the Police Station Ukhrul and FIR No.3(2)09 under section 302 of the IPC, 1860 (Act No 45 of 1860) registered at Police Station Senapati, Manipur relating to the abduction and killing of Dr Thingnam Kishan, SDO Kasom Khullen and two of his subordinate staff and attempts, abetments and conspiracies in relation to or in connection with the offence mentioned and any other offence or offences committed in the course of the same transaction or arising out of the same facts'.
